The wilderness gospel
The Full Story
Creation — Designed for the Kingdom & His Glory God didn't just build the mountains and carve the riverbeds—He built us to walk in total communion with Him. Everything in creation was designed under His absolute authority, crafted for His Kingdom, and built to display His power.
-
Genesis 1:27, 31: “So God created mankind in his own image... God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.”
-
Colossians 1:16: “For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible... all things have been created through him and for him.”
-
Psalm 24:1: “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.”
The Fall — Stone Cold Dead in the Brush Walking away from God isn't just taking a wrong turn or getting off-track—it is spiritual execution. When we turned our backs on Christ and broke His law, we didn't just get weak, wounded, or lost; we became completely dead in our trespasses. A dead man in the backcountry can't pick himself up, buy better gear, or pull himself out. Left in our sin, we are totally helpless, facing the wrath of God.
-
Ephesians 2:1: “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins...”
-
Romans 6:23a: “For the wages of sin is death...”
-
Colossians 2:13a: “When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh...”
Resurrection — Raised to Life at the Cross Dead men can't save themselves, so Christ stepped into the dirt. On the cross, Jesus took the full, crushing weight of our sin and judgment. He died the death we deserved, laid in the grave, and rose again by the power of God—breaking the grip of death forever. Through His sacrifice, He doesn't just patch us up or give us advice; He breathes His very Spirit into us, dragging us out of the grave and raising us from absolute death into unstoppable, eternal life.
-
Ephesians 2:4–5: “But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.”
-
2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
-
Romans 6:4: “We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
The Call — Standing Up for the King You can't earn resurrection. You don't work your way out of the grave through grit, fieldcraft, or good deeds—it is a free, blood-bought gift from Jesus. The call is to surrender your dead life, place your absolute faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and be raised to walk as a warrior and servant in His Kingdom forever.
-
John 5:24: “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged; he has crossed over from death to life.”
-
Colossians 1:13–14: “For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”
-
Galatians 2:20: “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
